 Court Appointed Special Advocates make a big difference in the lives of abused and neglected children. CASA volunteers become consistent partners and voices for children in the court system.
Our volunteers collaborate with Child Protective Service workers, lawyers, teachers, counselors and doctors, along with foster and biological parents in seeking a safe, permanent placement.
The most important qualification for a CASA volunteer is a strong commitment to making a difference in the life of a hurting child. Volunteers help children learn that love can be given without pain or exploitation.
After an initial thirty hours of training, volunteers make a 12-month commitment and are encouraged to serve longer. Ongoing support from CASA supervisors guides volunteers in day-to-day interactions.
